C’est un cas d’OVNI qui fait le tour du Chili et de bons nombres de réseaux sociaux populaires. Cette affaire a éclaté à la face du pays en ce mois d’août 2012, lorsque le journal Sud-Américain, El Rancahuaso, a publié une peu banale photographie.
Sur ce cliché, on peut voir, au premier plan, 3 lumières discoïdales formant un triangle équilatéral parfait. Au second plan, 6 autres objets sont présents. Ils sont moins voyants et ne décrivent aucune figure apparente.
L’article du journal chilien nous apprend que l’observation s’est produite dans la soirée du mercredi 15 août 2012 alors qu’il faisait encore jour et que le ciel était plutôt nuageux.
