Researchers aerostatic laboratories General Mills, including aeronautical engineer J. John. Kaliszewski, aerologist C. B. Moore, pilot dick Reilly in the air, and Doug Smith on the ground (also Dorian and Zuckert).

The flight crew saw the first object, brightly glowing with a dark underside and halo around it.

The object was flying high and fast, then slowed, hovered for about 2 minutes, and finally sped up, moving East. Soon they saw another one (at 8:30?) the object, confirmed by ground observers using a theodolite.
