Roundhay Park in Leeds, West Yorkshire (England), occupies 700 acres of gardens, forest, lake, playgrounds and cafes. This is one of the most popular British public parks.
Some time ago a local resident Stephanie Smith walked in this Park with my parents and daughter and simultaneously photographed the local beauty. One of the photos with Victorian arch Stephanie later examined the strange creature that resembles a large, black and muscular dog. The creature was in the shadows on the stairs.
Stephanie was astonished, as she was sure that nothing of the kind during the photographing she couldn't see. And then scared because I remembered a local folk stories about a demonic dog.
In the North of England such creation is called the word of gytrash (gytrash) and they supposedly often visited parks of the Yorkshire dales.
"I froze when I realized that it's not just something black, some kind of animal. You could see the head, ears, nose and feet and I'm sure it was a demonic dog. He looks scary and like a werewolf and the worst part is that he is like a preparation to jump (the man who climbs the stairs). He lurks in the shadows, as if hiding, and it seems I caught him off guard".
According to Stephanie, she was sure that in that moment on the stairs there's no dog.
"A place for walking with dogs is a mile away from this place, here the lovers do not go. My dad says it's just a dog, like a German shepherd, but I think it's gytrash similar to the black wolf."
Stephanie says that it was not the first time she is faced with the abnormal things. When she was little, she was visited by her late grandmother.
