It's been two years since I saw this phenomenon, but I just found this website, so I write just now.
We came with a friend from the party, and decided to walk from there to my house (about 2 km)
The road to my house is a road without lights, because I live 2 km from the village.
When we were walking home, it was dark and the sky was very clear.
At some point, the friend said that he sees a red ball moving in the sky.I looked up and saw the red sphere, about the same size as the big star that was visible to us.
I thought that the ball stands still, and only seemed like it's moving because we went.
When I stopped to see if it was a ball, I saw he slowly approaches us.
When the balloon was almost on top of us, he suddenly flew very fast over us (within 2-3 seconds), and then disappeared behind the trees.
For a while I looked back, but the ball was not visible.
We then walked a little further and began to discuss what it could be.
After a while I looked back again and saw the ball, very slowly rising from behind the trees, but he changed the color from red to orange. After this was a kind of flash, not bright, and then he was gone.

SINT JACOBIPAROCHIE, FR — Het is al twee jaar geleden dat ik dit verschijnsel heb gezien, maar ik heb pas net deze site gevonden, vandaar dat ik het er toch maar op zet.
Ik en een vriend kwamen van een feestje en we besloten om vanaf daar naar mijn huis te lopen ( is zo'n 2 km)
De weg naar mijn huis toe is een weg zonder enkele verlichting, omdat ik 2 km buiten het dorp woon.
Toen we naar huis liepen was het pikke donker en de lucht was erg helder.
Op een gegeven moment zei die vriend dat hij een rode bol zag bewegen in de lucht.
Ik keek omhoog en zag inderdaad een rode bol, ongeveer even groot als de grootste ster die bij ons zichtbaar is.
Ik dacht dat de bol stil stond en dat het alleen leek alsof hij bewoog omdat we aan het lopen waren.
Toen ik stil ging staan om te kijken of dat echt zo was, zag ik dat de bol langzaam over ons heen kwam.
Toen de bol bijna boven ons was ging hij ineens super snel over ons heen( binnen 2-3 seconden) waarna hij achter ons verdween achter de bomen.
Ik heb een tijdje achterom gekeken maar ik zag de bol niet meer.
We zijn toen een stukje verder gelopen en zaten te discussiëren over wat dat nou geweest kon zijn.
Na een tijdje keek ik weer achterom en tot mijn verbazig zag ik de bol heel langzaam achter de bomen terug omhoog komen alleen hij veranderde van rood naar oranje.
Daarna was een soort flits, alleen niet fel, en toen was hij weg.
Ik heb er daarna nooit meer iets van vernomen.
Ik heb enkele foto's gemaakt maar helaas was er niets op te zien, waarschijnlijk omdat het zo'n vreselijk slechte telefooncamera was.
Ik heb een tekening bijgevoegd ter verduidelijking.
Let wel: de foto's heb ik van google geplukt, en dit is dus niet de echte plaats waar ik op dat moment was.
