At 21:10 from the tower was seen round orange-red object the size of a dime, which kept at arm's length, and were taken with 60 and 8 strong binoculars.

Charles P. Chitwood, operator control tower, gave a description of the object. Object was in Northern sky at an angle of 340 degrees and moved in the direction 240 degrees for 7 minutes, then suddenly changed course and sped in the direction 80 degrees. Then, the object again changed course and disappeared on the measured rate of 277 degrees.
At 21:06 (12/0506Z) squadron AC&W in Harrow (CA) also noticed the object. They called on the air base of Edwards, which, in turn, notified the station "China Lake".
