Early Thursday morning, October 2, 2014, unidentified flying object literally lit up the sky of Utah. The UFO emitted a blinding flash of green, blue and white. It was about 4:40 a.m., when a few seconds there was a very bright ball. He let out a strong flash, before heading to the ground. The whole scene was pretty quiet.
In a few minutes the first witnesses tweeted about this vision. One of them had his testimony on the website UFO Stalker :

Il était aux alentours de 4 heures 40 du matin quand une boule extrêmement brillante a fait son apparition pendant quelques secondes seulement. Elle a émise un violent flash avant de se diriger en direction du sol. Toute cette scène s’est déroulée silencieusement.
Quelques minutes plus tard, les premiers témoins ont twitté sur cette apparition. L’un d’eux a livré son témoignage sur le site Internet UFO Stalker :
« À environ 04h43, j'étais dans ma cour arrière en train de fumer une cigarette. Le ciel était clair, et comme d'habitude je regardais le ciel, en me focalisant sur la constellation d'Orion. Puis, en face de moi, j'ai vu un vert clair, blanc, bleu, bleu clair avec une sorte de queue. Cela me rappelait une étoile filante, sauf beaucoup qu’il était plus grand, et plus lent.
Puis j'ai pensé au météore qui s’est écrasé en Russie. Alors que je regardais cet objet, j'ai eu le temps de me rendre compte à quel point il était grand et qu'il voyageait en silence. »
« Cela a duré de quatre à huit secondes. Quand il a traversé mon champ de vision sa queue semblait se briser en morceaux. »
L’homme a immédiatement écarté l’hypothèse d’une étoile filante puisque l’objet était beaucoup trop lent. I
Une explication ?
Selon Patrick Wiggins, représentant de la NASA dans l’Etat de l’Utah, l’OVNI observé ce matin-là avait toutes les caractéristiques pour le faire ressembler à un météore qui se consume après avoir fait son entrée dans l’atmosphère.

With dazzling flashes of green, blue and white, a mysterious object lit up the Utah sky early this morning.
It silently soared over the state at around 4.40am, seemingly lingering for a few seconds.
But while some excitedly rushed to report a UFO, one astronomer claims it was a burning meteor that was so far away it couldn't be heard. A video captured the a burning white ball's passage through the sky.
Seconds later, neighbours took to Twitter reporting flashes of blue and green.
One wrote on UFO Stalker: 'At approximately 4:43 am I was in my back yard having a cigarette. 'The sky was crystal clear, and as usual I was looking up at the sky, looking at the Orion constellation.
'Then in front of me I saw a bright green, white, blue, light with a tail.
'Reminding me of a falling star, except much larger, and slower. 'Then I thought of the meteor over Russia. As I watched this object, I had time to think how big it appeared, and that it was traveling silently.
'It lasted several seconds, four to eight. As it moved across my field of vision the tail seemed to be sparking, or breaking off in pieces.
'It was close enough that I expected to hear a crash, as it seemed to be traveling in a downward direction.
'As it travelled (sic) behind structures and out of my sight, I thought I should go see if I could find it, thinking that it would have come down very close.
'I did not go though. I do not know what it was. I know it was not a simple falling star. It was way to big, and moving way to slow.'
