An eyewitness from the city of Minsk Dmitry Tikhanovich writes in OVOCOM:
This date I remember very well because since that time, I had a fear of swimming in rivers, lakes and reservoirs.
It happened on 24 July 1995. Then I was 8 years old. Everything happened in the village Elovici, Slutsk district, Minsk region. It was about 12 noon.
Together with my grandmother, my brother and I went to the pond, to ensure that we "swam", and my grandmother milked the cow during this time. Only my brother and started jumping into the water from the shore as at this moment our attention was attracted by a noise of falling from a great height water.
We transferred his gaze to the pond, I saw out of the water and jumped "something" like a mermaid. It is something we have seen for 3 to 4 seconds, until "something" disappeared under the water. This creature looked like a typical mermaid. But on his face we were able to distinguish between eyes and mouth, nose and ears we could not see.
When grandma came back, we told her about this case, but she did not. Please explain can it be a mermaid or it may some stray frogman.
