That's one of the stories of our days, the authenticity of which I have personally checked. It occurred with people well known to me: on the basis of understandable reasons, I'm not going to name names. With many in this family things have happened strange and inexplicable, which prefer not to remember.

Before the war, in the thirties, a girl from this family, who lived in the village Ridge of the sennensky district, Vitebsk region, married. Soon her daughter was born. And then the worst happened: my husband died suddenly, within a few days. He was buried, and the young mother was left alone with a baby on his hands. One day she ran to their relatives excited and scared: she told me that she was visited by deceased spouse, asked to eat, and he set the table. She, of course, no one believed. The next day she told me that he would come again, and this time took the child, strange played with him, squeezing him in her arms; the child screamed with fear, and she tried to snatch it from her husband, but he grabbed her arm and threw to the corner of the room. She showed her hand, which was badly swollen, and the swelling this did not come until her death. She again did not believe. According to her, late husband kept coming to her every night. After a few days the child died. And soon died herself. The story had its continuation.

This widow was a niece. 20 years after these tragic events, the niece gave birth to a son and was in one of the maternity hospitals of Vitebsk. Her chamber was on the first floor, window to the courtyard. Niece almost went crazy when I saw night standing in front of the window at the tree of his dead aunt. She was wrapped in something white, hands were pulling and painful asked to give her newborn. Niece, barely alive from fear, so clutched to her son that the child in the head for life left a birthmark in the form of a print of the five fingers of the hands of the parent. Niece, of course, the doctors didn't. Deceased aunt came in a few days, but to pick up the kid and could not. Twenty-five years later my daughter niece appeared several times died 5 years before this, the grandmother, the sister of the most young widow, with which the history began.

I have to say, what to remember about such events do not wish; what I gave here, devoid of much detail, but believe me, these details are so terrible that the recollection of them is painful to the witnesses, and we know that they are optional. What is more important: the witnesses never mention the word "vampire" because of the phenomenon of vampirism never read and know nothing about him. Meanwhile, everything that happens with them, is clearly dangerous signs of vampirism. The fact that vampirism is dangerous, you need to always remember; any attempt to make experiments with the vampires pose the same risk to a scientist investigating a deadly infectious disease. Many of the old grandmother in the Belarusian villages told me that before the war the villages had been just an epidemic of vampirism (the word "vampire" was not used; in some villages, however, some who called these dead ghouls).
