One of the most recent cases was in the "Blue book", which was marked as unidentified. It happened in the Meridian (Mississippi). Philip Lanning was driving to the South of the city in the evening of 10 July 1967, when his car stopped and the radio stopped working. Lanning got out and started to look at the car engine, when a huge object flew over his head at a height of about 300 feet (91,4 m) in the air. The object was silent and moved to the East. Lanning thought the object here-here will collapse.
Just before the object made up of a group of neighboring trees, he leaned up, turned to the right and then with great speed accelerated straight into low-flying clouds.
The object was described as "similar to a plate on the drum set and was a dirty metallic gray color on the lower side." Witness saw no Windows, no doors and said he was the size of a house.

They were impressed with Lanning as a witness, as he was a former army officer, who was trained.
After extensive research and interviews, the air force was forced to identify this observation as an unidentified.

After extensive research and interviews, the Air Force was forced to label this sighting as unidentified. This was one of the very last reports in Bluebook to receive that tag.
