Another interesting incident in Puerto Rico occurred on August 18, 1968, at 2:30 a.m. at Remy Air Force Base, and it involved Sgt. Thomas Carulli, who signed a statement for APRO.
Statement that was received through APRO Field Inve. Tigator John R. Artie, a U.S. Air Force soldier currently stationed at Beale Air Force Base in California, says the following:
About 18 August 1968, at approximately 2:30 a.m., at Bodnken Beach, Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico, fifteen other police security forces observed what was believed to be an unidentified flying object.
Visibility was unlimited. It seemed that the UFO was rising from the ocean, but when it was first seen, it looked at an angle of 45 degrees above the surface and rose.
Rising, he seemed to be swaying on the sides, radiating a very bright, almost fluorescent light, similar to an unsimiling strobe from within his structures. The reason it looked like this was because there were gaps, bars or (you might say) window panes. These racks were vertical, and there were about six of them. They reminded me of the crown on the Statue of Liberty, but their greatest width seemed to be in their center.
When he reached his zenith, which in itself seemed no more than 1,500 feet (456 m) above the ground, he lingered there for a few minutes: all the while he radiated this light, which illuminated the entire area, which used to be in total darkness.
It was round or spherical, more like if you only hold your fingertips and wrist together, not allowing your palms to touch. In fact, if you do it with your hands and turn your hands to your face, fingers at eye level, it will be what the UFO will most look like.

It was a lantern the size of a coin of ten cents at arm's length. He stayed on the side of the first UFO, then he hesitated too much or swayed and rushed up until he became almost invisible. Then he just seemed to hang out there, almost indistinguishable from other stars.
Two or three minutes later, the first UFO swung, turned to its side and rushed up and out in a north-northwest direction until it disappeared.
