An eyewitness from the town of Sutermer writes:
I was just looking out the attic window. And I saw a bright golden light in the distance, quite large. It looked like two spheres, but the light became brighter and brighter. A kind of illuminated arch was created in the air, which slowly faded away.
After 30 seconds, the light began to turn brighter, and eventually a smaller illuminated arch was created. Then the light became weaker and weaker.
Maybe it's a meteorite or something? The light was so bright that the clouds were illuminated. But why did it slowly fade away, and then the weather became very clear?

ZOETERMEER, ZH — Ik keek net uit het zolderraam. En ik zag een fel goud licht in de verte redelijk groot. Leken op 2 bollen maar het licht werd feller en feller. Er ontstond een soort verlichte boog in de lucht en doofde langzaam uit, na 30 sec begon het licht feller te worden en uiteindelijk ontstond er weer een kleinere verlichte boog. Daarna werd het licht zwakker en zwakker. Zou dit een meteor of iets ander kunnen zijn. Het licht was zo fel dat de wolken verlicht raakten. Maar waarom doofde het langzaam uit waarna het weer erg fel werd?
