Initial data
Eyewitnesses are sure that they saw a Ghost in the medieval castle "Gwrych" (Gwrych Castle) in Wales, reports The Sun.
The newspaper cites the story of a local resident Toria Westwood, who is convinced that in January last year she saw the silhouette of a woman here with her young daughter. The girl told her mother that she noticed something creepy in the upper window of the castle when they were walking around the territory.
"We were on the terrace and photographed the scenery. And my daughter screamed, " Mom, look at this!" Toria shared.
The woman took a photo of the window that her daughter was pointing at, and really was able to see a certain figure in the picture. It is assumed that this is the Ghost of the previous owner of the castle-the Countess of Dundonald, who died in 1924. According to legend, the spirit of a woman is angry because her husband once took out valuables from here. Local residents believe that her restless spirit lives here, but there is no evidence of this.
The castle itself is currently preparing to shoot a survival reality show featuring the stars of "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here".
Hypotheses
Pareidolic illusion
A variety of visual illusions (the so-called "sensory illusions additions"); is the formation of illusory images, as a basis which are the details of the real object. Thus, the vague and obscure the visual image is perceived as something distinct and defined — for example, figures of people and animals in the clouds, the image of a man on the moon, "a hidden message", audible when you reverse the audio recordings, the shadows formed by leaves or complexes of objects in certain lighting (sometimes at a certain angle).
