Two 19-year-old girls driving West near Gingamsburg saw two oddly colored orange light shapes, twice the "size" of aircraft landing lights. "Balls" of light protruded in the center, and at the ends faded.

The buzzing could be heard from both the streetlights and the car radio. The driver couldn't get her car to accelerate faster than about 20 mph (73 Vega with a 4-speed manual transmission). The light fell from the left, one directly above the other.

The two witnesses looked away for a moment. And the objects were already gone when they looked again at the light that illuminated the car. From the South, they moved Northwest across the field. A rod or light beam fell from a single ball of light and illuminated the witnesses for one second.

The driver tried unsuccessfully to flash the car's headlights.

A humming sound could be heard both from the lights and from the car radio. The driver couldn’t get her car to go faster than about 20 mph (a 73 Vega with manual 4-speed). The lights were coming from the left, one directly over the other. The two witnesses looked away momentarily (“did you see that?”) and they were gone, they looked again, and the lights came over the car. From the South they had moved to the NW over a field; a rod or a light beam came down from one ball of light and shone a light at the witnesses for one second. The driver tried to flash the car lights at it, to no avail. They looked away briefly and did not get to see the manner in which the lights vanished.
