A man named Shlomo Cohen saw a mermaid near Kiryat Yam and provided the following report:
"I was with friends when suddenly we saw a woman who was lying in a strange way on the sand. At first I thought she was just another sunbather, but as we approached, she jumped into the water and disappeared. We were all shocked because we saw that it had a tail."
"A lot of people tell us they are sure they have seen a mermaid and they are all independent of each other," Council spokesman natty Silberman told Sky News . "People say it's half girl, half fish, jumping like a Dolphin. He does all sorts of tricks and then disappears."
