Several boys were swimming in the Ganges River, including a five-year-old boy who could not swim. After a while, his parents, who had come to look for him, missed his presence.

After a while, the young man was seen by the others, somehow held under the powerful current by a strong unknown force, only his finger sticking out of the water, he kept in place and did not move. One of the older boys swam up to him and pulled him out.

Apparently, he was not injured. When asked What happened, he said that a "beautiful woman" in a crown and earrings, dressed very nicely, appeared out of nowhere and supported him when a strong current tried to drag him away. While rescuing him, she apparently disappeared.

(This humanoid has been interpreted as "Jaladevata", in the ancient Indian Vedic tradition a creature that reportedly gives protection to those in danger of drowning in lakes and rivers.)
