Initial data
The year 1955, the coast of Sussex. While on duty in the late summer evening, the police officer John Clark saw flying over the coast at a high altitude brightly glowing round object.
In size, the object was similar to the disk of the moon at full moon. Clark saw a glowing disk (or ball) fly out from behind the horizon in the west, 10 minutes later it was already at the zenith, and 10 minutes later it disappeared over the horizon in an easterly direction.
The policeman did not hear any sound coming from the object.
