I took a horse-riding trip from Broome to Darwin from July to September 1994. To shorten the long story, we ferried the horses to El Questro station across the Pentacost River about three o'clock in the afternoon. The car and trailer were moving extremely slowly because of the roughness of the road, and we didn't want to scare the horses. I was riding in the back seat, watching the animals, when out of the corner of my eye I saw what I first thought were three planes flying low to my left.
I thought it was weird because they were flying very close to each other, and since I was flying planes, I didn't know how dangerous it was if you weren't trained properly. I thought they were planes, because the lights were red and green, and since many very rich people were staying at this station, I thought maybe they were going to land at a private airfield.
Anyway, they went quite low and then just stopped and hovered about 200 yards (180 m) to my left, egg-shaped (typical saucer shape) with first red and then green lights moving horizontally around the middle of the saucer.
They were still there at 22: 30 that night, and one day I felt like I could almost touch them. They were silent and did nothing until they left that night.

I was travelling on the back of the ute keeping an eye on the animals when out of the corner of my eye I saw what I at first thought to be three planes coming in low to my left.
I thought it odd because they were travelling really close together, and as I have flown planes before I know how dangerous that can be unless you are properly trained. The reason I thought they were planes was because of the red and green lights and as a lot of the very rich stay at this station I thought it might have been a private airfield they were going to landing on.
Anyway they came in quite low and then just stopped and hovered about 200 yards to my left, ovoid in shape (typical saucer shaped) with first red and then green lights travelling horizontally around the middle of the saucer. They were still there at 10.30 pm that night, at one stage I felt I could almost touch them. They were completely silent and did nothing at all until they left that night.
