Initial data
A bright point of light came from the south when I was driving home from the cadets, it was moving too fast for a helicopter or light plane.
It stopped at an altitude of about 1000 feet (300 m), 2 more lights separated from the original light and began to circle around it. This made it clear that it was by no means a normal object, as the two light sources remained exactly opposite to each other as they rotated.
The two lights performed what I could only describe as an infinity symbol, such as a maneuver, before merging back into the original and taking off at very high speed on a reverse course (south). All the lights were white, without the signs of beacons, etc., with which the aircraft is usually equipped.
I turned off the engine the whole time the three lights were separated and didn't hear anything, let alone a helicopter that wasn't hovering too far overhead!

Summary: a bright point of light came from the south as i was driving home from cadets ,it appeared to move too swiftly for a helicopter or light aircraft. It stopped overhead at about 1000 feet approx, 2 more lights detached themselves from the original light and began to circle it. This made it clear that it was in no way a normal object, as the 2 lights stayed precisely opposite to each other as they rotated around. The 2 lights performed what i could only describe as an infinity symbol like maneuver before merging again with the original and taking off at very high speed on a reciprocal course (to the south) The lights were all white with no indication of beacons etc as per an aircraft. I turned off my engine the whole time the three lights were separated and could hear nothing ,much less a helicopter hovering none to far overhead! the lights all moved swiftly and smoothly There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and i could plainly see the stars near to the horizon.
