Initial data
While serving in the US Air Force in Operation Desert Shield in October 1990, I observed a dark triangular object moving across the sky at about 22: 30, without making a sound. It had 3 white lights, one in each corner of the triangle.
My location was on a remote airstrip in the desert, with little interference from ground lighting. Many stars were visible, but none were visible within the triangle itself. The moon was about full.
The object crossed my field of view in about 15-20 seconds. It was much larger than the moon; how to compare the size of a quarter dollar with the size of my hand, which I hold at arm's length. Its height was unknown.
I remember that at the time when it happened, I drew the attention of several other people to this incident.
In my 22 years in the Air Force, I have seen many types of aircraft in flight.
