It took me a long time to find a way to report this, and the date is not as accurate as it was a few years ago. I lived in the town of Kirkby-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, England, United Kingdom.
My wife and I were walking home after a night's rest, and the sky was very clear and full of stars. This was the time of the Halle-Bopp comet, which could be seen with the naked eye. My wife asked me if we could see the comet, and I pointed it out to her.
After observing the comet, she commented on 2 objects that looked like stars but were orbiting each other. Two other women were standing next to us to see what we were looking at, and they also saw this image in the sky. After circling each other for a few minutes, they stopped, then one of them flew in a straight line to our left, and the other in the opposite direction. Like they knew we were watching them or something.
The one that was flying in the opposite direction (to the right) suddenly stopped. I kept an eye on him the rest of the way home. When I got home, I asked my mom to come out as she was looking after the kids, but when we got back, it wasn't theirs.
Very strange, but this is a true statement, and I swear to God and to my own life, this is what we saw.
