Initial data
In England, a family is sure that they captured a "creepy ghost" at the house on video, reports the Daily Star.
The incident occurred in the old town of Lichfield, Staffordshire. The Rogers couple received a warning from the security app, but no one was found outside the door. Then they saw a mysterious white object hovering near their door on the security camera footage. It darted back and forth and changed shape, then disappeared into thin air.
The owners of the house have no idea what it could be. The woman was scared.
However, Internet users questioned the possibility of a mystical origin of the object. According to them, it was most likely an insect.
Original news
A woman was left spooked when she saw a creepy “ghost” whizzing back and forth in front of her home on a front-door security camera.
Vanya Rogers, who lives in Lichfield, Staffordshire, said she was watching television with her family until she noticed her security lights were on.
The Ring security system usually sends an alert out to the user when it detects movement near the camera.
In the footage Vanya shared to Birmingham Live, the camera appears to have picked up a white spot somewhere behind the bush.
The mysterious shade then transforms into an elongated shape and starts moving left and right closer towards her house.
At the end of the clip, the “ghost” disappears into thin air on the drive just outside her front yard.
Vanya and her husband had no clue of what it could be. They even sent the video to her friends and asked for suggestions.
She said: “It was strange because we’ve got security lights too but they didn’t come on.
“We paused the television to investigate, I thought someone had crept up the side of the house and blacked out the light – a full scale emergency.
“I pushed a button on my phone to put the light on and then we saw something, I don’t know what it was.
“I’m completely perplexed.”
She said the shadow looked like it was walking and flying up and down.
“Someone said ‘could it be a neighbour?’ But it’s a crazy neighbour that can fly up to the first floor. Perhaps it was a bird?” the confused resident added.
“I’d love to know what it was. I am open minded, if it is a ghost and wants to co-exist, that’s fine – just as long as it doesn’t come knocking on my door.”
Viewers debunked the speculations of ghosts and believed it’s mostly insects flying past the camera.
One said: “Ever heard of dragon fly?”
“It’s a moth,” another added and a third suggested: “It’s lens flare.”

Investigation
The appearance of the object is very similar to a glaring fragment of a web (from ordinary light or IR illumination of the camera).
