The witness, Greg W., made a trip to the lava flow flowing into the ocean and descending the slope from the upper forest part of the park. He stopped to photograph the coast and the land formations. According to his estimates, there were about 1,500 of them at the height of the place where the photo was taken.
A week later, after developing the photo, he saw an image of a dark figure that he had not seen before. He looked like a dark "warrior" standing guard, but in reality, no features were visible.
One local colleague thought it might be a "Night Marcher" that is part of the local folklore.

The witness, Greg W, had taken a trip to the lava flow entering the ocean and on the way down the slope from the upper-forested area of the park; he stopped to take a picture of the coast and land formations. He estimated it to have been about 1,500, in elevation at the place of the photograph. A week later when he developed the photo he saw the image of a dark figure, which he had not seen previously. It looked like a dark “warrior” standing guard, but no features were actually visible. One local co-worker thought it could be a “Nigh Marcher” which is part of the local folklore.
