He said he was part of a three-person hunting team during a trip on August 28, 2013, at about 21:40, when the "ship" was spotted just 400 feet (120 m) away for about six minutes. The other two men are also unidentified.
He claims to have seen it through the scope. The man told MUFON in detail. In a video interview for MUFON, he said: "We were driving along a logging road to the main highway when this vessel was at a low enough altitude to see it through the windshield.
"I would say it was at an altitude of 150 to 175 feet (45-52. 5 m) above sea level. I took the scope out of my backpack, opened the window, and hung an open side window to watch the ship."
He described it as "brilliant brightness", emitting the same intensity of light as the stadium lighting. He said:
"I've worked with operating systems in the past, and it was coherent light, it was unpleasant to look at, like a laser that went through a defractive gradation or something like that. It wasn't a focused laser, it was a defocused laser. The man described a flashing array of colors around the " ship."
One of the witnesses next to me was excited and asked:
"What is it?»
The other one just said shoot, but I said I couldn't shoot something I couldn't identify. The man said he made some mental notes about the object, estimating it to be 170 feet (51 m) long, 20 to 21 feet (6-6.3 m) thick,and an outer diameter of about 60 feet (18 m).
He said:
"It looked like it was made from a forged piece of mercury. It was great in the polish. No lines, no rivets. I'm a pilot, so I was looking for anything that could be seen on the plane, I was looking for lines on the fuselage that would indicate a door or landing equipment."
