Initial data
I was driving on the A34 towards Wilmslow and kept a spherical metal ball in the sky. The sun reflected the light of its structure, and this gave it a metallic appearance. I had my window open and I could see it right up in the sky through the driver's seat.
It remained in the same position and did not move as far as I could tell when I was moving. It remained in the sky for about 15 seconds, and then slowly dematerialized. At first I thought it was one of those shiny balloons, but it was so perfectly round that I ruled it out almost immediately.
If I had to guess its size, I would say it is 3 to 5 feet (0.9-1.5 m) in diameter. It was very difficult to get perspective, as there was absolutely nothing in the sky except the sun, which was about 45 degrees to the left of the object. No photos. I'm afraid the ride wasn't easy, and I was trying to keep an eye on this object at the same time.
After 45 years, I finally saw one.

Summary: I was driving along the A34 towards Wilmslow and I save a spherical metallic ball in the sky. The sun reflected light of its structure and it made it look very metallic. I had my window open and could see this in plain sight in the sky through my drivers side. It remained in the same position and was not moving from what I could determine as I was moving. It stayed in the sky for about 15 seconds and then slowly dematerialized. I thought it was one of these shiny balloons at first but it was so perfectly round I ruled that out almost straight away. If I had to guess its size, I would say about 3 to 5 feet in diameter. It was very difficult to get perspective as there absolutely nothing in the sky except the sun which was about 45deg to the left of the object. No photos I’m afraid as was not easy driving and trying to keep tabs on this object at the same time. After 45 years I finally get to see one, just hope others did too.
