Initial data
The witness was driving home from Minneapolis and stopped at a Dairy Queen in Olivia before continuing west on Highway 212 at about 6:27 p.m. on November 8. 2015.
"When I looked out of the passenger side window to the north, I noticed what I initially thought was a small plane flying just above the tree line," the witness said. "I looked again and noticed that the windows were too big to be airplane portholes."
The witness could not see the traditional red or green flashing airplane lights that a small plane would have.
"There were long rectangular windows where I could see people standing and looking out. I grabbed the camera and tried to take a couple of pictures. Then the machine made a sharp 90-degree turn and headed towards me. I saw three bright lights in the front."
The subject moved quickly toward the witness.
"He came up to my car quite quickly above the treetop level, passed over my car and the road, and then disappeared to the south. I immediately stopped at the side of the road and looked for an object in the sky, but I saw nothing. I could see the lights of other planes and planes in the sky, but they were very far away."
The case was investigated by Minnesota State Director Craig Lang and field investigator Susan Birtnen and closed as unknown.
"The shape of the object was described as a bullet or missile," MUFON said in a statement. "The surface was dark, and there were long rectangular windows on it. The windows were illuminated with yellow-white light. The size was estimated at 11-30 feet (3.3-9 m). The object had a black / dark gray color with an unwavering white light. The height is 20 degrees. The height was up to 500 feet (150 m) from the top of the tree, and the distance was 21-100 feet (6.3-30 m). It was first seen in the north, and then disappeared in the south."
