I just parked my car in a public parking lot, which is about a 5-minute walk from my house. About 3.2 km away, a fireworks display was taking place in a public park.
When I was crossing the road to the street that goes behind my house, I saw an orange light flying at an altitude of about 50 feet (15 m) above the roofs of houses and schools.
I assumed it was fireworks, but it didn't behave like fireworks. It kept the same color, did not make a sound and lasted for about a minute.
The other man was on the other side of the street, and I pointed it out to him, and we both stood and watched him walk away until he disappeared over the top of the hill.
It was dark orange in color with a light orange halo around it. He didn't make a sound and moved slowly and unhurriedly.

Summary: I had just parked my car up in the public car park which is about 5 minutes walk to my house. There was a firework display going on about 2 miles away in a public park. as I crossed the road to the street that runs behind my house I saw an orange light, about 50 ft in the air floating across the tops of houses and a school, I assumed it was a firework,but it did not behave like one. It maintained the same colour,made no sound and carried on for about a minute. Another man was on the other side of the street and I pointed it out to him, we both stood and watched it getting further away till it disappeared over a hilltop. It was dark orange with a light orange halo around it. It made no sound and moved slowly and deliberately.
