Walking towards the northern edge of Shrewsbury, when from the field to the left of Ellesmere Road, two huge very bright balls flew straight up to a height of about 400 feet (120 m).

They were a bright bluish-white color and did not make any noise at all. they began to move slowly towards a nearby residential complex called Herongate, when suddenly they rushed up very quickly, and we watched them disappear from view.

While this was happening, we notice two vehicles passing by us, which suddenly stopped on the road. Their engines and headlights were turned off, and the street lights were also turned on and off.

We all agreed that these were definitely not any aircraft known to us, because two of us are former servicemen, from the military.

Summary: walking towards the northern outskirts of shrewsbury, when from the field to the left of ellesmere road, two huge very bright spheres shot straight up to an altitude of approx 400ft. they were a brilliant bluish white colour and made no noise at all. they started to move towards the nearby housing estate called herongate slowly when all of a sudden they shot straight upwards really quick and we watched as they disappeared from sight. whilst this was happening we notice two vehicles driving by us that just stopped in the road suddenly and their engines and lights cut out, the street lights also flicked on and off. we all agreed that they were definitely not any kind of aircraft we knew of, as two of us are from military backgrounds as ex servicemen. we continued to walk talking about the spheres when approx five minutes later two apaches helicopters appeared and flew low and around the fields next to the road as if searching for something.
