Initial data
A bright red light moves in the winter sky, and then rushes up. During a short trip home as a passenger in the back seat by the window with my wife and two children on a clear night (-3 degrees Celsius) without clouds, I noticed a very bright red object in the night sky, which seemed to me too high and too bright to be a flash.
I immediately asked my wife and children to look at it, which my wife and daughter looked at, both said: oh my God, what is this? I asked my wife to stop and jumped out to watch him more, he hung there so red that he looked at all the distant white stars for ten seconds, then moved to my left for a moment, then back and then very quickly down.
Then it seemed to just sit there for another ten to fifteen seconds before rising up very quickly and silently, until it turned into a tiny dot and disappeared.

On a short journey home as a back seat passenger nearest the window with my wife and two children on a clear night (-3 degrees Celsius) without a cloud I spotted a very bright red object in the night sky which to me seemed far too high and too bright to be a flare. I asked my wife to pull over and jumped out so to observe it more, it hung there so red as to all the distant white stars for ten seconds then moved to my left for a moment then back and then downward very swiftly. It seemed to then just sit there for ten- fifteen seconds more before moving upwards very swiftly and silently until it became a tiny dot and disappeared.
