I first saw this light on Christmas Day, I was driving home and noticed an unusual light in the sky around 20: 15, at first I thought it was a plane, when I looked, it seemed to turn 90 degrees to the right and after a few minutes it disappeared.

There is something special about this light, and as an airplane pilot, I am sure that it is not an airplane. A week or so later, when I was working in Abingdon in the evening, I saw the same light again. This is quite a characteristic, orange glow is very bright and moves slowly. Over the past week or so, I have witnessed this light several times, each at about the same time from 22 to 23 hours and in the same area of the sky over Abingdon.

Even when the lower boundary of the clouds is at a low level, the light is clearly visible, and aviation noise is not heard with it. However, tonight, approaching Abingdon around 22: 45, there were 3 distinctive separate bright lights, all of them identical in an almost triangular pattern, again slowly, but in different directions.

I was driving at the time, so I couldn't determine exactly when they disappeared, but after about 5 minutes of observing the same area where the lights were visible, they disappeared.

Summary: I first observed these light on Christmas day, I had been driving home and spotted an unusual light in the sky about 20:15, at first I thought it was an aircraft, as I watched it it seemed to turn 90 degrees to the right and after a few more minutes disappeared. There’s something distinctive about this light, and as an Aircraft pilot myself am positive that it is not an aircraft. A week or too later I was working in the evening in Abingdon again spotted the same light. It’s quite distinctive, an orange glow very bright and moves slowly. Over the last week or so I have witnessed this light on a few occasions, each around the same time 22 to 23 hrs and in the same area of sky over Abingdon. Even when the cloud base is low the light is clearly visible and there is no aircraft noise associated with it. However tonight approaching Abingdon around 22:45 there were 3 distinctive individual bright lights all identical in an almost triangular pattern again moving slowly, but in different directions. I had been driving at the time so wasn’t able to observe exactly when they disappeared but after about 5 minutes observing the same area where the lights had been seen they had disappeared.
