An eyewitness from the city of Alkmaar (North Holland) writes:

I see a row of vertical light balls moving crosswise. The first row is in front of my house, and now that I have a second camera in the back of the house, I also see them there, but now there are two of them. rows in front of the house. I see that they have been coming back every night since three days ago. My cameras sound the alarm every night, so I had to turn them off because of the neighbors.

According to ufomeldpunt.nl this is most likely a spider web with water droplets stuck to it. This explains the thickening and the reason why the "thread" remains vertical.

ALKMAAR, NH — Ik zie een rij verticale licht bolletjes kris kras bewegen.eerst 1 rij voor mn huis en nu ik mijn tweede camera achterhuis heb zie ik ze daar ook maar nu zijn het aan de voorkant van het huis twee rijen geworden.ik zie ze vanaf 3 dagen terug elke nacht terug komen.mijn cameras slaan alarm elke nacht dus die moest ik voor mijn buren uitzetten.
