At the end of 1986, there were reports in the Western press that an "ogorogo" (ogopogo?)was allegedly seen in the Canadian Lake Okanagan, located east of Vancouver — that's what the locals call a huge black reptile.

There were even photos of the mysterious creature, but, unfortunately, the image quality leaves much to be desired.
