OCTOBER WAS ALSO A MONTH FOR FLYING SAUCERS IN THE HOLY LAND
Although "flying saucers" of various shapes invaded the sky of the Holy Land in October, no one here claims to have seen a Martian or even a grounded car. A physicist, police and army officers, representatives of aviation companies and a journalist were among the people who witnessed the visits of "flying saucers" over Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee and along the coast.
Simultaneous reports of the saucers were received two evenings in a row, and there was one day's "flight" between them from Safad in the Galilee.
Two men, one of them an army officer, were walking to a bus stop in a suburb of Jerusalem and saw a wide strip of very bright light moving rapidly from east to west overhead. "It was something like a rocket, but much faster and brighter," they said. After four seconds, the light went out, and smoke became visible against the background of low clouds. The light seemed yellowish to the army officer, and bluish to his friend.
Mr. Kabli, a Jerusalem physicist, said that at the same time he saw in the center of the city "a brilliant object that zigzagged above, lit up the sky for a few seconds, and then disappeared. It wasn't a meteor. he insisted.
Another witness from another part of the city reported that evening that he saw a "round object" flying at high speed from north to south at an altitude of about 300 feet.
SMOKE CABLE
The night before, a brilliant object flying at high speed was reported to the Jerusalem police. Witnesses described it as a light brown disc. It was noticed that the smoke comes out through two holes in the disk.
One witness said it looked "like a flying house hovering over him, smoke billowing from the windows."
There were reports from Bethlehem of a "flying saucer" shrouded in a powerful blue light, leaving a trail of smoke behind it as it disappeared in a south-easterly direction towards the Judean Desert.
On the coast, cigar items were spotted by a crowd leaving a local cinema in the suburbs of Haifa. Mr. Shimshon Schwartz, a reporter for a local daily newspaper, said that the cigar was flooded with red and blue light and was flying in a northerly direction.
South of the coast, residents of Tel Aviv bombarded newspaper offices with reports of "flying cigars". One couple from the suburbs of Tel Aviv reported:
"We saw a strangely illuminated object that appeared in the east, flying at high speed to the west. As it approached, the light intensified, and we could clearly see two fiery tails coming out behind it, until it suddenly made a sharp turn to the north and then disappeared. . "
The next evening, an employee of the Israeli national aviation company El Al, Mr. A. Hollander, said that he saw an "ellipsoid-shaped object" that appeared on the horizon in the north and was moving at great speed, leaving behind a shining white light. a band resembling the tail of a meteor.
IN THE FORM OF AN EGG
On the same evening, there were reports of flying saucers from Midgal Ashkalon, the ancient Philistine city of Ascalon, located further south on the Mediterranean coast.
On the same evening, a message was received from Eilat, the southernmost village of Israel, on the shore of the Red Sea, about a rapidly moving egg-shaped object shrouded in a powerful clear light.
A green "aura" surrounded the saucer, which was seen by several witnesses in Tiberias, on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. There the crowd saw a round object shining with a blinding green light and flying at great speed from east to west. According to eyewitnesses, he remained in sight for about 15 seconds.
A single daytime "flight" was reported from Safad in the Galilee, where several residents, including an engineer, saw a "flying cigar".
