An eyewitness from the city of Crommenie (North Holland) writes:
I myself woke up at 2 a.m. and couldn't sleep anymore, then I played a game on my phone. I was tired, I was browsing instagram and at the moment it was 2:57. I looked out the window and thought that the stars were so bright and the sky was so clear to see that there were no clouds, and suddenly I saw a round UFO that I had never seen before.
I got up, opened the window and looked out to make sure it wasn't a helicopter, a flying star or something like that. I was clearly convinced that it was a UFO because it was round with a very distinct light and was so clearly visible because it didn't look like a star, because the stars are too far away, and this one was really close.
I saw it up close, and then I wanted to write it down, but it wasn't there. I woke up everyone in the house to say that I had seen a UFO, and I was immediately told that UFOs did not exist. Well, I never believed it until I saw it.
I know 1000% what it was, there is no other way out. I'm more into science and I see more than I believe, but I believe in myself, and I know what I saw, and it was really what I saw, and very special.
Now I sleep with my phone, so if I see it again, I can immediately record it, but even then no one will believe me, I think. And why did I see this? I won't go crazy, I suppose?

Om 2.57 heb ik in de lucht een ronde UFO gezien
KROMMENIE, NH — Ik zelf werd om 2 uur in de nacht wakker en ik kon niet meer slapen, toen heb ik nog spelletje gespeeld op me telefoon. Ik werd moe, zat op instagram te bladeren en gegeven moment was het 2.57. Ik keer naar boven me raam en dacht woooow wat zijn de sterren zo helder en de lucht en zo duidelijk te zien dat er geen 1 wolk was en ineens zag ik een ronde UFO wat ik nog nooit gezien heb. Ik stond op, deed het raam open en keek naar buiten om zeker te zijn dat het geen helikopter was of een vliegende ster of iets dergelijks. Ik was duidelijk overtuigt dat het een UFO was want het was rond met heel apart licht en het was zo duidelijk zichtbaar omdat het niet op een ster leek want sterren zijn te ver en deze was echt dichtbij. Ik heb het van dichtbij gezien en daarna wou ik het opnemen maar hij was verdwenen. Ik maakte iedereen wakker in huis om te zeggen dat ik een UFO had gezien en werd gelijk gepest dat zo iets niet bestaat. Tja ik geloofde er ook nooit in tot dat ik het zag.
Ik weet 1000% dat dat het was, het kan niet anders. Ik ben meer van de wetenschap en meer 'eerst zien dan geloven' maar ik geloof mezelf en ik weet wat ik gezien heb en het was echt wat ik zag en heel apart. Ik slaap nu met m'n telefoon dus als ik het weer zie kan ik het ook gelijk opnemen maar zelfs dan gaat niemand me geloven denk ik. En waarom heb ik zo iets gezien? Is dit een voorteken of tja ik ben niet gek aan het worden toch neem ik aan?
