Initial data
In 1716, the crews of several ships near Revel (Tallinn) noticed black clouds in the sky that were flying against the wind.
A column of fire lit up between the clouds, and finally they collided with a terrifying roar, piercing the sky with shining rays.
Captain 2nd rank N. Senyavin wrote in the ship's log:
"It is impossible to describe what kind of fear there was at that time, how both clouds hit and with what haste; so many small oblaks followed the big cloud that came from the Nord, and there was such a flame, like lightning, so that the eyes could not stand it."
