A curious event also dates back to 1717, when a strange creature was caught off the coast of Borneo, the drawing of which has survived to this day - and its image is surprisingly similar to a mermaid. The sounds made by the strange monster resembled the squeaking of mice.

According to 50 eyewitnesses, it lived for 4 days in a barrel filled with water, after which it died.
