In 1931, not far from Cape Town, in Saldanha Bay, the fishing boat "Maria Malu" was fishing. Suddenly the fishermen saw an unusual creature with a human head in the water. The captain of the boat said that this strange creature did not look like a dugong or a seal. In the heat of hunting excitement, South African fishermen stuck a harpoon into an unknown creature and shot it in the head a couple of times.
However, despite the wounds, the underwater resident managed to escape from his pursuers and hide in the depths.
