In 2000, employees of two border posts observed UFOs over Dagestan, which was recorded in the report of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It happened over the villages of Kazmalyar and Novy Filya of the Magaramketsky district.

Here's what Interfax reported:

"For two minutes, the soldiers observed a target flying rapidly at an altitude of about 100 m from the side of the mountains, hiding towards the sea at a course of 10 degrees. The UFO was not a projectile or a rocket, the servicemen saw three glowing lights with a distance of 2 m."
