Initial data
May 16, 1995, 2 a.m., south-western outskirts of Grozny. An ordinary cloud suddenly lit up with a bright ruby glow. Two thin pillars glowing with red light flew out of the center of the cloud, then, flashing synchronously, they disappeared and after 2-3 seconds appeared over the city center. Hovering in an upright position, they quickly became enveloped in clouds and began to imitate the lighting of clouds, giving flashes of reddish color, then weakly, then brightly, as if the wind was blowing up the fire.
They still appear very often. The visible dimensions of the pillar are 5-6 cm; the upper part from the center of the pillar is narrower than the lower one, the height is 7-8 km.
