UFO. Kazakhstan

On October 19, 1982, the IL-62 airliner, which was making a regular flight from Moscow to Magadan, was forced to make an intermediate landing on the territory of Kazakhstan at the Yelizovo airport in Petropavlovsk due to unfavorable weather conditions at the destination.

At 19.32, during the approach, when the liner was at an altitude of 7,200 meters, its commander by the name of Vasilyev, as well as crew members, observed an unusual sparkling object flying in the same direction as the plane for fifteen minutes ahead. 

But he was flying very strangely, in jerks - he was rapidly moving forward, then suddenly slowed down, hovering almost motionless, while changing the altitude all the time. The brightness of the object also changed periodically: it flared up and then faded with an interval of 10 seconds. Meanwhile, neither the on-board radar of the liner nor the radars of the ground flight control service detected any object near the aircraft.

When, five days after the incident, the IL-62 underwent a scheduled technical inspection, serious defects were found in one of the engines. It is noteworthy that the previous check showed the complete serviceability of this engine.
