On May 23 last year, the housing construction organization of the city of Fontenay-aux-Roses (Hauts-de-Seine) received an unusual letter. Ten tenants living between the 1st and 5th floors of a residential building have applied for urgent relocation.
According to residents, their housing, built in the 60s, is haunted by ... ghosts.
Part of the letter written by the tenants is revealed: "All tenants affected by this incident will be able to justify what they saw, namely the ghosts appearing in our apartments and in the building. As a result, almost all families get sick and suffer together with their children."
One of the residents of the house explained that strange phenomena began to occur after the death of one of his neighbors in April 2019.
Residents talk about the feeling of "presence, vague ailments, burning light bulbs and a shadow" in the form of a cloud. The mayor of the city, Laurent Vastel (Udi), said that he would go to the scene to find out what was going on.
It is known that the reconstruction of this area is planned for 2030. 800 dilapidated residential buildings will be destroyed. If the one who is supposedly haunted by paranormal phenomena is one of them, then ghosts and other "genies" will also eventually be "banished".

Le service logement de la ville de Fontenay-aux-Roses (Hauts-de-Seine) a reçu, le 23 mai dernier, une lettre pas comme les autres… Dix locataires habitant entre le 1er et le 5e étage d’un HLM de la cité des Blagis ont demandé à être relogés d’urgence. La raison de cette requête ? Leur logement, datant des années 60, serait hanté… Le Parisien révèle une partie du contenu de la lettre rédigée par ces Fontenaissiens : « Tous les locataires concernés par cet incident pourront justifier de ce qu’ils ont vu, à savoir des fantômes apparaître dans nos appartements et dans l’immeuble. Suite à cela, presque toutes les familles sont malades et touchés avec leurs enfants ».
Un habitant de l’immeuble a expliqué que d’étranges phénomènes avaient commencé à se produire suite à la mort d’un de ses voisins, en avril 2019. Le sentiment d’une « présence », des maux louches, des ampoules qui grillent et une ombre « comme une sorte de nuage »… Le maire de la Ville, Laurent Vastel (UDI) a affirmé qu’il se rendrait sur les lieux, « pour voir ce qu’il en est ».
Hanté ou non, le réaménagement du quartier a été prévu d’ici à 2030. Les 800 logements sociaux les plus anciens seront détruits. Si celui supposément hanté fait partie du lot, les fantômes et autres « djinns » (génie ou démon dans les croyances musulmanes) seront, eux aussi, éventuellement délogés.
