Today, the phenomenon of "crop circles" is well known in Poland. Over the years, such formations have appeared in many parts of the country. It remains debatable how many of them can be attributed to genuine anomalies, and which are the works of the so-called plant breeders. A special place was Vilatovo, which became known in 2000, when the first "pictogram" appeared there in the fields.
However, few people remember that the beginning of this phenomenon dates back to 1998, when the first signs of this type were found in grain in the vicinity of a Clearing near Myslenice (Lesser Poland Voivodeship) (although the leading Polish ufologist Bronislaw Rzepecki suggested that such formations could have appeared a year earlier).

Dziś zjawisko „kręgów zbożowych” jest w Polsce dobrze znane. Na przestrzeni lat tego rodzaju formacje pojawiły się w wielu miejscach kraju. Kwestią dyskusyjną pozostaje to, jak wiele z nich możemy zaliczyć do autentycznych anomalii, a które to dzieła tzw. crop-makerów. Miejscem szczególnym było Wylatowo, które stało się znane w 2000 r., kiedy na tamtejszych polach pojawił się pierwszy „piktogram”.
Mało kto pamięta jednak, że początki tego zjawiska datuje się na rok 1998, kiedy w okolicach Polanki k. Myślenic (małopolskie) odkryto pierwsze tego typu znaki w zbożu (choć czołowy polski ufolog, Bronisław Rzepecki, spekulował, że podobne formacje mogły pojawić się już rok wcześniej).
