May 25, 1893. HMS "Carolinee" between Shanghai and Japan observed a group of flying discs slowly moving north. They passed between the ship and a mountain almost 2 kilometers high. Through binoculars, they appeared reddish and left traces of brown smoke. They were observed for two hours.

25. majH. M. S. "Carolinee mellem Shanghai og Japan iagttog en formation af flyvende skiver, der langsomt bevægede sig mod nord. De passerede mellem skibet og et næsten 2 kilometer højt bjerg. I kikkert viste de sig at være rødlige og efterlade brune røgspor. Iagttaget i to timer.
