On October 26, 1593, an unexpected situation arose in Mexico City: a soldier in an unusual uniform appeared in front of people's eyes, as if he had descended from heaven.

Interrogated, he introduced himself as Perez and said that he had just been on duty at the palace of the Governor of Manila in the Philippines, located 17 thousand kilometers from Mexico. According to him, the governor was treacherously murdered last night. However, the soldier himself could not explain how he ended up in a completely unfamiliar place.

Soon the unfortunate soldier was handed over to the Inquisition, and only a few months later the sailors who arrived confirmed all the details of the tragedy described by him: the Governor of the Philippines, His Highness Don Gomez Perez Marinas, was killed by an axe blow. After that, Perez was released, but an explanation for the strange incident was never found.
