Initial data
Ghostbusters managed to film the "White Lady" while exploring the 500-year-old castle.
A creepy finding by paranormal researchers led them earlier this year to a trip to Almond Castle, where torches illuminated a potential phenomenon from the grave. The medium accompanied the searchers to the Scottish place.
During a return visit on September 16, the group reported a series of screams and sighs in the area, presumably caused by some kind of ghostly force.
Three itinerant explorers took on the task of exploring Almond Castle in Polmont, Scotland, and what they found scared them. One of the group members, Yvonne, has since told EdinburghLive about her wild finds.
She said:
"So on Saturday evening we returned to explore Almond Castle in Polmont. During the first investigation, we communicated with the woman through torches.
We asked the spirits to turn the torches on and off in response to questions, and a few minutes later David and Jane saw the "lady in white" standing in the doorway on the floor above.
"On Saturday evening we talked to this lady again. Last night, leaving the castle, we took these photos in quick succession (literally click-click-click — it can be seen by the clouds). We gave a professional photographer a look. and he checked the lighting changes, etc. and can't really explain."
The footage taken from the scene shows a ghostly white figure in the window of the castle. The reports indicate that the specified window is not accessible by the usual methods open to the public.
Now the team believes they have photographed the creepy White Lady, an infamous ghost who is said to haunt the area. Over its history, Almond Castle has been the subject of several terrible accusations. It is located just a few miles from the Union Canal in Falkirk.
Original news
Ghost hunters managed to capture footage of the 'White Lady' during an exploration of a 500-year-old castle.
The creepy find of the paranormal investigators led them on a trip to Almond Castle earlier this year, where torches shone light on a potential sighting from beyond the grave. A medium had accompanied the searchers to the Scottish site.
A return visit on September 16 saw the group make claim to a series of squeals and gasps in the area, allegedly caused by some spectral force.
The trio of travelling explorers took it upon themselves to investigate Almond Castle in Polmont, Scotland, and what they found has terrified them. One of the group, Yvonne, has since spoken to EdinburghLive of their wild findings.
She said: "So on Saturday night we returned to investigate Almond Castle, Polmont. On the first investigation, we were communicating with a lady via the torches.
"We had asked spirits to turn the torches on and off in response to questions and within minutes of each other both David and Jane saw a 'lady in white' standing in a doorway on the floor above.
"On Saturday night we communicated with this same lady again. On leaving the castle last night, we took these photos in quick succession (literally click click click - you can see this by the clouds). We have let a professional photographer have a look and he has checked out lighting changes etc and cannot really explain."
Images taken from the scene show a ghostly white figure in the window of the castle. Reports indicate said window is unreachable through normal means open to the public.
The team now believe they snapped a photo of the eerie White Lady, the infamous ghost said to haunt the area. Almond Castle has been the sight of several eerie allegations over its history. It sits just a few miles away from the Union Canal in Falkirk.
Hypotheses
Illusions associated with the refraction and reflection of light
Reflection is a physical process of interaction of waves or particles with the surface, changing the direction of the wave front at the boundary of two media with different properties, in which the wave front returns into the medium from which it came. The reflection may be specular (that is, such as is observed when using a mirror) or diffuse (in this case, the reflection is not saved the path of the rays from the object, but only the energy component of the luminous flux) depending on the nature of the surface.
Pareidolic illusion
A variety of visual illusions (the so-called "sensory illusions additions"); is the formation of illusory images, as a basis which are the details of the real object. Thus, the vague and obscure the visual image is perceived as something distinct and defined — for example, figures of people and animals in the clouds, the image of a man on the moon, "a hidden message", audible when you reverse the audio recordings, the shadows formed by leaves or complexes of objects in certain lighting (sometimes at a certain angle).
