Night from May 14 to May 15, 1981, 3 o'clock. The area is east of the station Vaskelovo, about 10-15 km before reaching Lake Ladoga.

We were walking along a forest road in an easterly direction. They came out into the open. We made a halt. The sky is absolutely clear. We stood and looked at the stars. They began to look for Venus in the sky. Suddenly, a trail began to rise above the horizon (as it seemed to me, directly from the ground), similar to the trail of a jet plane, only somewhat wider. At first, this trace was pale, slightly reddish in color, and suddenly, somewhat going up, it began to expand sharply and acquire a bright white color (illuminated haze), but it seemed that it was considered itself. Even this already somewhat mushroom-shaped trace formed a kind of center, from which a bright light emanated. In terms of brightness, it can be compared with an electric welding arc, only not bluish, but pure white. naturally, all this brightness was hidden by distance, i.e. it did not exceed the lunar brilliance. When this "mushroom" began to grow (the rate of growth is slightly higher than the rate of growth of an atomic mushroom, usually shown in educational films), my friend exclaimed: "Atomic explosion!" Although this phenomenon had only one thing in common with the atomic explosion - grandiosity.

This trace had clear borders and was translucent. A bright light beat from its center, as if turning more and more in our direction. As he occupied about 1 \ 6 - 1\ 8 part of the firmament, he stopped growing, and at the same time in the center of it, where the light came from, a spot of clear sky began to grow at the same speed. This spot in the center captured about 1 \ 10 of the entire footprint and also stopped growing. Simultaneously with the growth of the pure spot, 3 bright dots became clearly visible, located in a circle close to each other, but having a distance between them about 3 times the size of these points. This impression with three dots can be compared to a rocket having 3 nozzles and moving away from you, as it were. Gradually, these dots decreased and faded away from you, moving away. But until the end they were visible as 3 lights of one object.

Specifically, the absence of any sound effects should be canceled.

No matter how much we listened, the silence remained complete. The trail in the sky remained until the very morning (already without a "spotlight" in the center) and just before dawn, which followed an hour and a half later, had an amazingly beautiful color (blue, white, purple, red - shades).

In terms of time (of course, very approximately), the layout of the phenomenon is as follows:

1. A footprint similar to that of a jet plane - 15-20 seconds.

2. The growth of a "mushroom" with a bright light in its center - 2-3 minutes.

3. The appearance and growth of a clear patch of sky in the center of the "mushroom" - 15-20 seconds.

4. The appearance of three dots and their departure - 2-3 minutes.
