Dear comrades! In response to your request, published in the newspaper "Trud" dated 30.01.85, I want to report a phenomenon that I observed at the end of June 1961 in the village of Kapustin Yar, Astrakhan region.

I cannot explain the nature of this phenomenon until now.

At that time I was serving in the Soviet Army and with a unit I was in the steppe at night classes.

At about 5 o'clock in the morning, classes were over and the personnel immediately rested. It was already light enough, the sky was covered with low layered clouds.

I, being not far from the soldiers' resting place, suddenly saw a cigar-shaped body, black in color, which was flying, as if floating, at a distance of up to 1.5 km from me, at an altitude of about 800 meters, below the clouds.

The body, measuring 2-2.5 m in length and 2.5-3m in diameter, had no wings, stabilizers, portholes, engines.

It "floated" at a speed of approximately 150 km/h (at the speed of a helicopter) absolutely noiselessly.

I watched it for several minutes until it disappeared over the horizon.

The direction of movement and other eyewitnesses, for the prescription of time, I can not specify.
