I read an article in your employee's newspaper about anomalous phenomena in the breed and decided to write you a letter. I won't worry about what you'll think of me later. But what I'm going to write to you, it was fantastic. and I still can't explain this phenomenon. In 1962, I was vacationing in the village of Staraya Sloboda in the Gzhatsky district of the Smolensk region.

On July 5, on the eve of Midsummer Day at 23-30, it was a warm evening, the moon was shining, the stars were shining, there was a silent silence, only occasionally the laughter of young people could be heard from the street of the Lower Slobodka.

We (I am at the age of 41, my brother is a member of the CPSU for 46 years, his wife is 43 years old) went from Verkhnyaya Slobodka for children. And suddenly, from the side of the river there was a terrible loud rumble, as if the earth was being torn there with a screech, shuddered and made a hum. We stopped. This rumble was getting closer. I saw a horse, shining like the moon, and a shiny goat-type cart, about 100-150 m away from us, near a well that was neglected without a log house. There was no one in the cart. The front legs of the horse, as in the movies, walked as if through the air, and the hind legs only occasionally touched the ground. The wheels of the cart rolled on the ground and, as if with a screech, cut the metal. I said to my brother, "See!" He replied, "Yes!" My brother's wife has poor eyesight. She only heard the hum and asked us what we were seeing? We didn't say anything to her, as we were chained to an incomprehensible vision. The horse was moving slowly parallel to the road on which we were standing. Then she drove behind the Upper Slobodka house. I didn't see anything else, just heard a moving rumble with a screech.

The children came running to the noise and started asking what kind of strange sound? Then the sound rolled also in the area of the neglected well. After the sound stopped, my nephew, 22 years old, a member of the Komsomol, cycled all the roads, but saw nothing anywhere. the next day, in the afternoon, the children walked along the path (there is no road between the upper and lower Slobodka in that place) "Seen", also found no traces on the ground. This phenomenon was observed for about 5-7 minutes. My brother saw and heard absolutely the same. We heard: my brother's wife, their son, my children, but they came up when we could no longer see anything, when the horse disappeared behind the trees, houses.

Therefore, I would like to know your opinion about this phenomenon in nature. Our village is located on a hill. There used to be lowlands around, in some places swampy marshes. On one lowland there was a "bottomless pit" into which it was sucked.

I have not been in the village since 1962. Maybe everything was plowed there? This year we are going to visit our native places. I'm a retired engineer.
