Initial data
In the area located on the banks of the Amu Darya River (40 km downstream from the mountains. Nukus) three tourists around 23-30 local time noticed the appearance in the sky (at an angle of about 20 degrees) of two nearby luminous dots, which soon began to "spiral" relative to each other, leaving a glowing trail as they moved. As a result, a luminous spherical cloud was formed, in the center of which there was a luminous point that seemed to "double".
The cloud formation phase lasted about 2 minutes. The color of the formation was "silvery-white, like the Moon," it was perceived as a dense gas, stars did not shine through it.
After that, the formation began to move in the direction of the eyewitnesses. It retained the shape of a ball and sank so much that the eyewitnesses had the impression that it would "cover" them. Soon, the "ball", which had grown to enormous size, touched the surface of the Earth and began to "cut off" at this point, blocking the entire river, which is about 700 m wide here. After a while, the cloud dissipated, leaving behind a glowing ring, which also soon disappeared. The whole event lasted about 15 minutes.
Subsequently, a group of tourists who were about 20 km from this place reported that at the same time they also observed this phenomenon, only not high above the horizon.
