Alexander Ilyich Prokudin writes to the Commission on AI:
I read your articles about UFOs several times, I decided to write to you what we observed in the summer of 1972 in the Rostov region, the village of Bokovskaya, Bokovsky district.
After serving in the Army, I worked in the Volga-Don river shipping company, we came with a cargo to the village of Vyoshenskaya and I went to St. Bokovskaya, this is my homeland. After 24 hours (it was either in June or July) we were sitting in the park for 8-10 people, there were conversations about who served where, etc. about 5 guys got up and went home, we stayed. We heard them running back and shouting something. In short: a disk was flying across the sky, the front part of it glowed yellow in the form of a crescent moon, the rest of the round part also glowed faintly around the circumference and there was a trail behind it like from a jet taking off from an engine nozzle. the size of the disk is like the moon, the inner part is black, the speed is like an airplane when you observe it at night from the ground, the direction is from north to south. Then the disk went out and formed like an ordinary asterisk, which disappeared over the horizon. My friends said that this is not the first time they have seen this in the village, or rather above the village. the next day, when I arrived on the ship, I told the crew about it, they replied that they had also seen it and thought it was a burning plane falling. So this phenomenon should have been seen in the Veshnevskaya station. The distance from Bokovskaya to Vishnevskaya is 45 km.
In general, in appearance, this thing is a copy of the moon in the nascent stage. You can write to the district newspaper. We must respond to your request, because I am not the only one who has observed this phenomenon.
