A message about the observation of an unusual phenomenon in the city of Leningrad.

On February 9, 1989, in the period from 17-00 to 18-00, a group of people observed an unusual phenomenon - a flying object flying along the Tallinn highway (between the highway and the airfield) and further west of Kotlin Island. This phenomenon was observed by Nechitailo V.I., his wife Nechitailo G.N., Sviridovsky V.L., Borisov G.N., Smirnov N.I., Smirnov Y.M., Korchevsky V.P.

Vladimir Ivanovich Nechitailo (48 years old, Deputy head. department of the Institute of VIASM) on 02/19/189 at 17-20 I was driving by bus along the Tallinn highway from Gorelovo to Leningrad. The Tallinn highway runs from southeast to northwest. I noticed an unnaturally bright white-milky object hanging or flying at an observer along the highway towards Leningrad between the highway and the airfield at an altitude of about 15 degrees above the horizon. A round-colored object the size of a 2-penny coin on an outstretched arm. It can't be a star or a planet because it's bigger. the distance to the object is not determined, but it seemed like it was in the area of the airport or beyond it. V.N. Nechitailo drew the attention of his wife Galina Nikolaevna, but she said that it was apparently a mercury lamp on a crane. However, there are no buildings between the highway and the airfield, but there is a field and there are no cranes on it.

The object was observed from Volkhonskoye highway to Migovo. In Staro-Panovo, the object disappeared behind residential single-storey buildings and when they left for the crossing over the railway to Migovo, the object disappeared.
